Hard for the youngsters to feel our pain over all these years. I listened
incredulously to Joe Buck in Game 6 remark that with a 9-2 lead and only 3
outs to go, the Cubs could put in anybody to pitch. Evidently, he was not
alive to see the game I watched many years ago in my native Chicago, when
the Cubs blew an 8-2 lead over Pittsburgh. It was the top of the ninth, the
Pirates had 2 out and nobody on. When it was over, Pittsburgh won 10-8.

Overjoyed to see the second Chicago-team World Series win in my lifetime.
(It took my beloved White Sox 88 years to do it in 2005). But sorry for the
Indians, who played great and showed fine sportsmanship. Both teams
deserved to win.

It was terrific!! 7th game. Extra innings, rain delay, everything. Wow!

Cubs Win Cubs Win

The Voice of the Cubs on radio and TV--Jack Brickhouse, Harry Carey and many
others, going back, are rejoicing. Ernie Banks is smiling. At last!!

Ended about 1am on the east coast.
