Dear Colleagues

I am looking for some quick passages in Veblen's work where he discusses
non-economic goals (e.g. conspicuous consumption) and perhaps also the
social/cultural embeddedness of agents (less obvious maybe?). My guess is
that much of what currently goes under the guise of economic sociology can
be found in Veblen and I need some "ammunition" against my sociologist
friends and foes.

Any pointers (e.g. chapters or page numbers in text) would be greatly
appreciated.
