Frank H. Knight was at UC-Berkeley during the Autumn of 1936 (was Berkeley
on the quarter system then? Chicago was, of course). He taught Economics
203A: Business Cycles. A summary of his course notes, prepared by Perham C.
Nahl, is in Box 37, Folder 17 of the Frank H. Knight Papers, in the
University of Chicago Archives.

When preparing the catalog of the Knight papers, I was unable to track down
an article in the Daily Cal about a lecture Knight gave, entitled "Democracy
and the Intellectual." Given the title, I expect it was delivered during the
1936 trip.

Knight was also there for an official visit during the spring of 1957, and
he frequently visited at other times. Knight's brother, Melvin M. Knight,
was a member of the economics department at Berkeley.
