Greetings to the editors and subscribers of this list:

My interests in economics range from the philosophical/methodological
to the history of its thought, specifically ancient and medieval.
I have signed on to the list for two main reasons:

1) I was honoured last Spring to have been asked by S. Todd Lowry,
Professor of Economics at Washington and Lee University (Emeritus)
and specialist in the history of ancient economic thought to assume
the editorship of The Invisible College of Researchers in Ancient,
Medieval and Renaissance History of Economic Thought Circular which
he began. Each issue of the circular has contained a listing of
individuals and their publications in the areas encompassed by the
College. I am hoping to be able to expand distribution of the
Circular and to extend and coordinate news of scholarship in ancient,
medieval and renaissance history of economic thought in the Circulars
to come. To this end, I would like to receive word from anyone
interested enough in the areas to receive a copy of the Circular
and from anyone publishing in the areas to be noted within upcoming
issues. Notice of names and addresses (e-mail and postal) can be
sent to me directly via e-mail. Copies of relevant publications
by those who would like to be listed in the Invisible College
Circular and others should be sent to me by post:

2) Thomas Kuhn, renown historian of science, passed away June 16, 1996.
I should like in his memory to draw together for reflection in one
piece, references to his ideas by economists and historians of economic
thought. I would appreciate being sent directly references, quotations,
or extracts re:Kuhn's work and ideas which you yourselves have made
in your own writing in economics or economic thought or know others
to have made in one of these two contexts. Your assistance in helping
to make this survey as comprehensive as possible is greatly
appreciated.
