Hello to any would be Hannibal Visitor(s),

Hannibal is a wonderful place, and all of the spots Mr. Dempsey suggested
are definitely among the destinations any visitor should make. However you
should know that the Mark Twain Birthplace Shrine is every bit as deserving
of a visit because it is a very short drive from Hannibal & contains many
very significant Mark Twain treasures, not the least of which is the house
he was born in & even the bed he was born upon. The original Clemens family
carriage & many pieces of their Hartford furniture is also on display there,
along with other very important relics. It is also a splendid spot for a
picnic. If you delve into some history you will even travel to other very
important Twain related spots within a stones throw of the Birthplace
Shrine.

Cordially,

Bob Slotta
