      Just for the record, the points that Mat notes 
that were made in the Semmler-Sieveking paper 
were made in the previously mentioned Prince-Rosser 
paper in 1985.  Yes, I do think that the environment is 
one place where reswitching and related issues has 
clear policy relevance for reasons Mat stated and that 
you identified as well. 
 
      BTW, multiple roots were first (or maybe not first) 
noted by Irving Fisher, making him the father of reswitching. 
Again, of course, this sort of analysis is not identical to the 
comparison of steady states sort of analysis that dominated 
the late 1960s early 1970s debates.
