Mat certainly has the right to hide his light under any bushel of his
choosing.
And, I would not be among those who deny the existence of Black Studies,
Feminist Studies, Environmental Studies, Astrology, Holocaust Denial or any
other field that attracts researchers.
And, history needs as many perspectives as possible. God knows the
dominance of the field for so many years by the political perspective,
uninformed by economics, has impoverished our understanding of the progress
of civilization beyond measure. I've even learned something by reading
histories written by socialists.
I just don't see the relevance of any of this for making progress in
economic theory. And, I use the word "progress" intentionally. No doubt
some consider my concept of "theory" anachronistic. Feel free.
