In ECONOMIC  PHILOSOPHY (I think I recall), Joan Robinson wrote: 'There are 
millions in the Caribbean, [Africa etc] for whome the misery of being 
exploited  
by capitalists is as nothing compared to the misery of not being exploited 
at  
all'. I quote from memory and the exact words ought to be checked.
