Coming from the heterodox side of the division in economics, I think Charles Loic's
comment that: "I think that the idea that heterodox economists are more open minded and
less anti-intellectual than orthodox economists is simply non-sense,..." is probably truer
than many heterodox economists would like to admit. Monopolies on the truth and the
politics of exclusion make for vicious circles in which "open mindedness" may be too risky
a business many people to consider. Under current conditions complicity and conformity is
a safer policy.
