That's not what I wrote, Roy.  Read it again. Your inference is unjustified from my comment. 
  To be more specific, since the early 80s, I no longer read the AER from  cover to cover.  I read only what seems related to my research  interests--or what seems a promising new research direction.  I  also read three newspapers a day.  They're usually more  interesting than the AER, but not always.
