A group of African American ministers in Oklahoma has requested that
Huckleberry Finn be removed from required reading lists at Enid High
School.  They cite Twain's use of language as their reason for objecting
to the book, and reporter Michael McNutt of The Oklahoman quotes one
of them as saying that the offensive nature of the language outweighs
any literary value the book might have.

McNutt tells me that he'll be writing additional articles about this as it
develops.  The Oklahoman does not provide free access to its archives
