Since the UK RAE has been raised in this discussion, I
would like to remind all scholars undergoing such assessment 
that, some while back, the HES and INEM nominated 
"special advisers" in history and methodology of economics 
to the RAE organisation.  If works in these fields are
being entered for the RAE2008, the authors should ask 
their university to signal (I believe, on the form RAE2)
that their work requires the appointment of such readers 
(the Economics Panel members include an economic historian, 
but not an historian of economics).
