I agree with the above.


What bothers me is that text is sometimes changed without informing the reader that that deed has been done. "Buck Fanshaw's Funeral" has been a victim on more than one occasion.


On the practical side, a stage performer using the original text will likely have a good portion of the audience walk out of the venue and will risk being physically accosted.
