It is my sad duty to inform the list that A.W. "Bob" Coats died Sunday night. 
According to his wife, Sonia, he died peacefully after a 5 day hospitalization, 
and throughout that time his family had been with him.

Always generous with his time, Bob was a mentor to a large number of historians 
of  economic thought  and students of methodology, and a friend to many more. 
His good cheer was infectious. He will be sorely missed.
