Many thanks to Twainites in the United States who have consistently tried
to help save this building. Our local authority,Brent Council, have shown
no interest in actively working to plan for a rebuild - even though it is
also the former home of Prime Minister ,William Gladstone, and as Twain
wrote 'within a biscuit throw of London !'Still after 20 years of watchful
campaigning and community support the House is still standing in an oasis
of 96 green acres of Gladstoen Park in this highly urban area.

It would be great if anyone could E mail messages of support to Brent Counc
il asking them to work with local organisations such as Gladstone Park and
Dollis Hill House Project and the Dollis Hill House Trust as well as the
statutory national guardian, English Heritage.E mail Victoria.McDonagh@bren
t.gov.uk - Victoria is the Planning Officer dealing with the demolition
applicaton
