Ben, it's a good suggestion, but the easy software that comes with the easy
Flip video only allows rudimentary editing: I can lop off the fronts and
backs of each clip, link them, put a title and a credit page up, but nothing
in between, and no subtitles. I could do that with other software like
Muvee or whatever, but I have never done so--I might get around to it and to
learning it, but for now, the film is what it is. I've already had a winner
in the "name that scholar" contest, details to follow, and I'll go back to
the video and list the names in order right under the video in the comments
section. That's the best I can do for now--sorry!
I was gratified that Steve Railton plans to show the video to his graduate
class in Twain. I thought of the film as a teaching tool, and as the new
director of the Teaching and Learning Center at my university (or I will be
as of Saturday), I am looking into buying several Flip or Flip-like cameras
and have faculty and students make short videos to post on YouTube. So this
was sort of a dry run for me--I'm going to use the film as a demonstration
for what might be done. I'm glad nobody has sued me yet! Residual checks
will be in the mail...
