KINGSTON GENERAL HOSPITAL
CONTRACT ARCHIVAL ASSISTANT
The Administrative Record Management and Archival Program (ARMAP) of the
Kingston General Hospital invites applications for a one year contract
position as an archival assistant.
The archival assistant in collaboration with the hospital archivist will be
involved in the preparation of record inventories and record schedules. The
implementation of record schedules will include appraisal and selection,
arrangement and processing of records. The archival assistant will
facilitate the research of the history of each administrative unit and the
description of the records transferred to the KGH Archives located in
Queen's University Archives and collaborate with the Queens University
Records Archivist in the preparation of finding aids according to the Rules
of Archival Description (RAD).
The successful candidate will possess a graduate degree or a two year post
secondary program in archival science or a graduate degree and a minimum of
three years experience in archives or record management. The ability to work
independently, good organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal
skills are required.
Location: Kingston General Hospital
Duration: April 1, 2000 to March 31, 2001
Remuneration: $15.00 / hour inclusive
