DEPARTMENT:	Archives
SALARY:			$38,309 with annual step progression to maximum of $48,951
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Budget - Temporary appointment from August 1, 2007 
to January 31, 2008
					with the possibility of renewal

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief Archivist, and in accordance with 
professional practice and policies and procedures of the Archives, is 
responsible for the day-to-day operation of the library with specific 
responsibility for:  derived and original cataloguing, significant 
aspects of library administration, acquisitions, collections 
maintenance, public service and other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Education:	Diploma in Library and Information Technician from an 
accredited community college program or equivalent combination of 
education and experience.

Experience:	Minimum 4 years relevant experience.

Other:	Administrative ability. Knowledge of automated cataloguing using 
SIRSI. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of 
DBTEXTWORKS/INMAGIC and other application software desirable;  knowledge 
of HTML and Encoded Archival Description desirable, ability to use 
equipment in the archives (i.e., Microfilm/fiche reader/printers). 
Computer inputting, knowledge of routine operation and maintenance of 
photocopiers. Ability to work independently.
