The production of a 747 is not a "spontaneous" process by itself. However,
production of 747s is only possible within the extended order where a Humean
"stupid mechanic" can utilize knowledge he does not understand. No
individual can possess or understand all the knowledge needed to build an
airplane or a ship or a computer. In the extended order, omniscience is both
impossible and unnecessary. As regards Diana Weinert's project, probably the
best way to illustrate the working of the extended order is to show how
individual ignorance might be beneficial.
