Following this posting you will receive the sixth of the "monthly" guest 
editorials for HES (the second to appear in the month of February). It 
will be posted by John Davis from Marquette University and discusses "The 
Economics of Scientific Knowledge." The editorial is, in part, a response 
to Wade Hands' earlier editorial on the sociology of scientific knowledge 
(SSK). 
 
The HES editors encourage you to respond to the issues that are discussed 
in the editorial. You can post a response by replying to the message (just 
check to make sure that the address to which you are sending the message is
