SALARY RANGE: $1,041.05 to $1,195.03 per week (M plus M)

Archives of Ontario offers eight challenging opportunities to work as part of the Collections Development & Management or Customer Service teams as an Archivist. The Archives of Ontario acquires and manages records with high evidential, informational and legal value that document the key activities and decisions of the Government of Ontario and the development of Ontario society. You will: appraise and acquire archival records from government and private sources, accession newly acquired records into the container tracking system, arrange and describe records according to institutional standards, provide reference services to clients and participate in outreach activities. 

QUALIFICATIONS:   Experience in an archives environment with working knowledge of archival principles/practices for appraisal, acquisition, accessioning, arrangement and description, Rules for Archival Description; familiarity with Ontario history and the structure and functions of the Ontario government, legislation/practices governing access to records, records management principles/practices and general preservation issues; excellent time management, communication and organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and to work independently or as part of a team; demonstrated customer service and results-based orientation; ability to lift and move 35-50 lb containers of archival material.
