Subject: RE: Opportunity to exhibit at Queen's Park (Museums and Cultural Institutions)

Hi all -- For what's its worth, Ms. Bondy happily provided me with an application form. I didn't highlight the fact that the application would come from an archives, but my signature line may have given her a hint. In looking over the application, one is encouraged to include three dimensional artifacts but it is not a requirement. If, however, the situation remains as Heather experienced a couple of years ago, I would agree some advocacy would be warranted.

Cheers,

Hello all,

Thanks to Jane and Iona for posting about the exhibit opportunities
available at Queen's Park. I contacted Queen's Park about their exhibition
program a couple of years ago and was told (I think by Amber Bondy in fact)
that the program was not open to Archives. I asked why, as we have lots of
really fascinating stuff, just like museums, but I was told that was just
the way it was. Things may have changed recently and I just may be
horribly out of date, but that was my experience. Personally I don't see
why Archives should be excluded and if this exclusion is still the case at
present I think we should look at getting some advocacy going to look at
changing this. We have lots of interesting stuff too!!!
