I have recently read the following quote that has been attributed to Mark
Twain:

"If God knew anything about Human nature he wouldn't have given
us anything as dangerous as the Bible."

But I have yet been able to find out where this comes from -- in what
work(s) of his did he orignally say this. Does anyone out there know
where this is from and if this IS the exact quote??

Thanks for your help.
