     On a friend's bookshelf I just discovered a paperback mystery novel
that hasn't yet been mentioned on the Forum.  If you're interested in
contemporary novels featuring Mark Twain and/or his works, you might want
to check out the following:

     Edith Skom.  _The Mark Twain Murders_.  New York: Dell Publishing,
          1989.  277 pp.  ISBN 0-440-20608-1.

The cited sources of background information are Neider's edition of the
autobiography, Paine's edition of the notebooks, and Kaplan's _Mr. Clemens
and Mark Twain_.
