Dear Twainians:
Has anyone ever mentioned that the lack of discipline demonstrated in Huck
Finn's climbing out windows and escaping with Tom Sawyer set a "bad example"
for children.  This point was brought home to me by a woman who stated that
she absolutely forbade her children to read either Huck Fin or Tom Sawyer as
she felt it would influence her own children's behavior to sneak out in the
middle of the night to try such excursions.
Is this an off the wall point of view, or has it been brought up previously?
