Just a quick observation or two from a Twain hacker. The Middle Ages of CY
look a lot like the antebellum South -- the kind of chivalric, Walter Scott
tableau that Twain detested. (And as for its anti-Catholic vitriol, remember
that the Twain-published "The Life of Pope Leo XIII" had recently been a
costly failure, with Catholics failing to make Twain rich by buying the
thing.)
