Re Axel's question about workplace democracy, if you'll consider something
grittier than the purely academic, there is a good bio of labor leader
Anthony Mazzochi by Les Leopold, with the unlikely title The Man Who Hated
Work and Loved Labor. It gets into how Mazzochi led his union into
successfully pushing what became OSHA.
