I have heard "leadsman" (from "Life on the Mississippi") pronounced "leedsman" (as in "lead guitar"), including by myself, but it should really be pronounced "ledsman" (as in "led zeppelin"), right?
After all, the cat used a piece of lead (as in pipe) to measure the depth of the river. - B. Clay Shannon
