===================== HES POSTING ==================

For those who are planning their schedules for teaching history of
economics in the fall term, I am happy to announce that the September
guest editorial on HES is on the theme "Surplus and classical distribution
theory," by Tony Brewer. The editorial will be posted to HES on September
6. Because the editorial challenges many of the common assumptions
regarding classical distribution theory, it (and the various replies)
would make an excellent class discussion piece (or, following Nancy
Wulwick's idea, a good source for an assignment summarizing the
argument).

The schedule of monthly guest editorials for the rest of the year is being
finalized. I will try, where possible, to provide some advance notice of
the editorials. If anyone wishes to recommend themes or names to me for
editorials, the suggestions would be welcomed!
