[NOTE: The Eh.Res discussion mentioned here can be found by searching for
"Re-thinking 18th Century China" in the November and December 1997 Eh.Res
archives, found at: http://www.eh.net/Archives/eh.res/. -- RBE]
It is generally reported that Turgot's "Reflections on the Production
and Distribution of Wealth" was written as advice to "two young men from
China." While there is a great deal written on the impact of
"Reflections" in Europe, I have seen nothing on either the two young men
or any other impact that the work may have had in China. As discussed
at length on Eh.Res recently, there was a great deal of both riches and
discussion in China during the relevant time period. What, if any, impact
then did Turgot have in China?
