On Wednesday October 22nd, between 0600am and 0630am, CNS Network 
Operations will be performing maintenance on York's connection to the 
Internet.

During this time there will be a 10 minute interruption of all 
connectivity to all external IP networks (GTAnet, ORION, SHARCNET, 
CANARIE, global Internet.)  Data network traffic at the Yorkgate Mall site 
will also be impacted.

Data network traffic which is internal to York's network (Keele campus, 
Glendon campus, Nadal site, Osgoode PDC, FacEd school sites) will not be 
affected by this maintenance activity.

Due to continuing growth in the volume of York's Internet access traffic, 
the existing connection between York's border and core routers is at times 
becoming congested.  During the maintenance window, the core/border 
connection will be migrated to faster hardware which is expected to help
alleviate this congestion.

pending interruption in service.
