There are some differences between Roughing It and my Quarterly article version, with the main difference discussed in an endnote. My version also expands greatly on the friendship of Ruel and Twain. The sack itself is now owned by the NvHiSoc.The Reno NvHiSoc store will mail copies of the 2017 quarterly for $10 plus postage Media mail, about 15 ounces Phone 775-688-1190 ext 225. I hope that gets through the email system legibly. If that doesn't work for you, I will be in Reno next week and will pick up some copies. As a member I get a small discount, so I will offer them to forum members at $10 including postage. My email is rstew160 at aol.com.

NHS does not seem to have a method of purchasing single copies of
recent newsletters. The flour sack auction is an interesting bit from
Roughing It. I'd be interested to see how Twain's report on it differs
from what actually occurred.
