I'm wondering how many may not know of the Huck Finn edition totally
illustrated by the famous Thomas Hart Benton. He did this apparently
because he so loved the book, but also as a recipient of a sort of
public works project at the time. This magnificent issue has been
offered by Easton Press as an introductory selection to join their
classics book club -- a leather bound gold embossed and gold edge
edition for about 5 dollars (books thereafter are about 40 or much
more). Of course one can cancel at any time if they choose to do so.
