CALL FOR AUTHORS
Booms and Busts: An Economics Encyclopedia
Second Deadline

We are inviting academic editorial contributors to Booms and Busts: An
Economics Encyclopedia, a new 3-volume high-school library reference to be
published in 2009 by M.E. Sharpe Publishers. This project is on an
accelerated schedule to capture the current economic crisis. We are under
contract to deliver the manuscript in thirds and are now working with the
second deadline of March 8, 2009. (If you have signed up for the February 8
deadline please stick to that as your article assignment is now
promised to the publisher for that date.)

This comprehensive work will be marketed and sold to high-school and public
libraries and includes some 450 articles, covering all aspects of business
cycles and related disciplines in the social sciences, including terms and
practices, profiles of countries and companies, and international business
organizations.

Each article, ranging from 600 to 4,000 words, is signed by the
contributor. The General Editor
of the encyclopedia is Mehmet Odekon, Ph.D., Skidmore College, who will
review all the articles for editorial content and academic consistency.
Note the intended audience for the encyclopedia is the high-school student:
All articles must in simple, nontechnical language with terms defined to be
accepted.

If you are interested in contributing to this timely project, it can be a
notable publication addition to your CV/resume and broaden your publishing
credits. Honoraria payments are a flat $20 per article accepted with a free
set of the encyclopedia sent to contributors who contribute 10,000 words or
more. More than this, your involvement can help assure that credible and
detailed data, description, and analysis are available to the next
generation of business issues.

The list of available articles (Excel file) and Style Guidelines are
prepared and will be sent to you in response to your inquiry. Please then
select which unassigned articles may best suit your interests and
expertise.

If you would like to contribute to building a truly outstanding reference
with Booms and Busts: An Economics Encyclopedia, please contact me by the
e-mail information below. Please provide a very brief summary of your
background in business and economic issues. Thanks for your time and
interest. Please remember this call is for the March 8, 2009, deadline.
