Matthew, in regard to the topquote from Maurice
Allais in this article, there is a recent book on
counterfeiting in 19th century America, which
concluded that the counterfeiters actually helped
the economy because there was such a shortage of
cash. I heard an interview with the author, but I
can't recall his name or the title of the book.
Does anybody know what book/author this might have been?
