A colleague pointed me to C. K. Rowley's article on Greif and  I thought 
that, as historians of economics, members of this list might find the 
issues raised especially interesting and worth discussing. The full text 
is available here:

Rowley makes several points beyond the basic claim that Greif should be citing Landa, e.g., the importance of mathematical formalism and the role of citation in establishing reputation. I would love to hear the reactions and reflections of the experts subscribed to this list.
