{The following is a forwarded message from Paul Machlis and contains
exciting information that will be of interest to all members of the
Mark Twain Forum.--KB}
Dear Mark Twain scholars:
During the past several years, the Mark Twain Project has supported
various efforts to provide online access to the Union Catalog of Clemens
Letters and the Union Catalog of Letters to Clemens. We are pleased to
announce that the University of California, Berkeley Library plans to
provide searchable web versions of both within the next year.
Meanwhile, a preliminary web version of the Union Catalog of Clemens
Letters is already available at the address below, mounted by an
interested colleague, Rhio Barnhart, at the University of California,
Davis. Although response time at this site can be slow, we feel sure that
many of you will be interested in accessing it, especially as it is the
only source for corrections and additions since the publication of the
original volume in 1986. No web version of the Union Catalog of Letters to
Clemens is available at this time. We will keep you posted of further
progress on the UCB plan.
