Kevin MacDonnell
Dear Kevin,
I am interested in getting a clearer picture of Twain being used in
unrelated-to-him name or image advertising.
Specifically I am trying to get an idea of writers used in advertising in
the 1870 to 1900 period. So, in your collection, can you give a quantitative
idea of how often the Twain name or image was used in advertising (unrelated
to him) in this time period?

Re: Twain, can you give a estimate (or actual) count at to the total number
of examples you have in 19th century advertising? And in 20th century
advertising?
I am interested in comparative uses of authors in advertising. So far, above
Dickens, Shakespeare, or any other writer, and in fact, above any other
personality short of Washington & Lincoln, the most used writer reference in
advertising may (MAY) have been Oscar Wilde.
Thanking you in advance,
Kit Barry
