	ARCH 201: Records Management

	 

	Understanding how records are originally created and maintained through out their life-cycle is integral to understanding the organic nature of archives. This course will introduce the basic concepts of records management, including subject classification systems, the role of retention schedules as well as contemporary issues facing information management professionals. The implications of electronic records on records management and the use of automation and micro-imaging will also be covered.
