Can someone help me identify the source of this quote from Twain:

"I try speaking to the French in French.  They don't understand me.  I
repeat.
They don't understand.  They appear to be very ignorant of French.  When I
use
their language, I'm never mistaken for a Frenchman, except perhaps by
horses."
