Folks; I don't know how many of you are following the controversy over the
"new" edition of A MOVEABLE FEAST, the great Parisian memoir of Hemingway.
An all-time favorite title of mine, though admittedly filled with some of
Hem's late pettiness as well.... This topic has been lighting up the
Hemingway LIST like a Christmas tree.... reminds me a little of the history
of MYSTERIOUS STRANGER.

Great article uncovering this edition's many problems (some ethical),
yesterday in the NY Times:

www.nytimes.com/2009/07/20/opinion/20hotchner.html?_r=2

beware of big publishers (and dubious descendants) out for a buck....or
several million of 'em...
