As I approach the end of my recording of Albert Bigelow Paine’s “Mark Twain-A Biography”, I’m struck by how true to himself Sam was…right to the end…never giving in to fear or suddenly-discovered “faith”. For those few who haven’t read Paine’s biography, I commend it as a most comprehensive, first-person treatise of Sam’s life and works. It doesn’t approach the detail and analysis of the Mark Twain Project’s “Autobiography” in three volumes, but it’s a LOT more approachable and digestible (although I understand there to be some controversial material included in Paine’s work…being a NON-academic: I know nowt) Free recorded copies of ABP’s “Mark Twain- A Biography”: Volume 1 <https://archive.org/details/marktwain_vol1_1806_librivox> https://archive.org/details/marktwain_vol1_1806_librivox Volume 2 <https://archive.org/details/marktwain_vol2_1811_librivox> https://archive.org/details/marktwain_vol 2_1811_librivox Volume 3….to be announced SOON +++++++++++++ John Greenman [log in to unmask] <https://librivox.org/reader/107?primary_key=107&search_category=reader&search_page=1&search_form=get_results> +++++++++++++ "Be good & you will be lonesome." -Mark Twain Mark Twain Audiobooks from Librivox <https://librivox.org/reader/107?primary_key=107&search_category=reader&search_page=1&search_form=get_results> <http://archive.org/search.php?query=(read%20by%20John%20Greenman)%20AND%20mediatype:(Audio)>My Mark Twain audio recordings at Archive.org <https://archive.org/search.php?query=Audio+%22John+Greenman%22&sort=-downloads>
