   I've been using a drawing of Mark Twain on my web site since about
1994, and I've forgotten the details of this picture:

http://futureboy.homeip.net/twain/frog3_i.gif

   A correspondent contacted me and asked me who drew the picture, and
who owned the rights.

   My recollection was that it was used on posters advertising Twain's
speeches around the time that the Jumping Frog story had made him so
popular. (Around 1865-1867.) I can't imagine that it's not in the
public domain now.

   Does anyone recall the source of this image?
