This is a friendly reminder to inform you that the deadline to register for
Elmira 2017: The Eighth International Conference on the State of Mark Twain
Studies is Wednesday, July 19.
This is the world's largest scholarly conference focusing on Mark Twain.
The theme of the conference is "The Assault of Laughter."
Elmira 2017 takes place from Thursday, August 3 to Saturday, August 6.
Rooms on the Elmira College campus are still available.
Highlights of Elmira 2017 include:
- Over 55 individual papers
- 7 special panels on a wide variety of topics
- A screening of "Band of Robbers" by the Aaron and Adam Nee, followed
by a Q & A
- A keynote address from Ben Tarnoff, author of *The Bohemians: Mark
Twain and the San Francisco Writers Who Reinvented American Literature*
- Whiskey tastings from Finger Lakes Distillery
- A closing picnic at historic and picturesque Quarry Farm
The registration fee includes all meals, snacks, and admission to all
special events.
