The 1998 Forum for the History of Science in America Prize will be 
presented for the best first book by a junior scholar published in English 
in 1996, 1997, or 1998.  The subject area, the history of American science, 
is broadly defined to include Canada, Mexico, and the United States.  A 
junior scholar is defined as an untenured scholar within ten years of 
receipt of the PhD. 
 
The Forum prize committee welcomes nominations for the prize, which will be 
presented at the 1998 annual meeting of History of Science Society in 
Kansas City.  Nominations should be received by April 1. 
 
To nominate a book, send title, name of author, and publication information 
to the chair of the committee, Julie Newell, by any of the following 
methods:
