Thanks for your interesting last posting Ross. I'd be interested to 
know more about its last sentence "If there is a pragmatist element 
in his theory of uncertainty, it probably comes via William James and 
Henri Bergson." Could you (off or on list) give me a reference where 
and how Henri Bergson was of influence on Knight's theory of uncertainty?
