Ms. Herfeld,

You might begin with S.M. Amadae, Rationalizing Capitalist Democracy
(Chicago, 2003). Written by a political scientist, this presents a quite
decent overview of the connections you're investigating, and does show
some relationships between economics and the other social sciences.

Best of luck.

John F. Henry
