Not exactly what you are after, but something worth thinking about is Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc. It was published as the work of The Sieur Louis de Conte, whose initials (SLC) are a hint at Clemens.

He published "In Memoriam"--his poem commemorating Susy Clemens--as "SLC."

Clemens," but he=3D  did not--he published that essay under "Mark Twain."

=3D me know. I've checked Rasmussen, and a few other sources.
