Thanks.

Actually, I find that those "garbage-characters" occur on just about every message I get on this listserv, and on no others! I've complained to the administrators for years and for some reason they are powerless to correct it. MT would be furious!

Also, ironically, the link I posted to the Calvin & Hobbes strip has proved temperamental, too. Maybe for the same reason?

I'll post it here again in hopes of better luck. It does work (and it's my favorite cartoon of all time...nothing to do with MT, however).

When in doubt, go to the main Forum page, , scroll down t= he page to "archives," and click thereon. You can then search "colorizing p= hotos" in the Subject-line field, which will display a list of postings fro= m the aforementioned thread of 10 October 2013. =20 MLC -------------------------------------------- On Sat, 3/8/14, Ben Wise wrote: Subject: Re: Twain colorized photo To: [log in to unmask] Date: Saturday, March 8, 2014, 4:19 PM =20 Yes, I remember seeing it here before, and probably replied then with=3D20 the same reference I'm linking here now, which proves that the=3D20 colorization was indeed a fantasy since color didn't come into the world=3D20 until the 1930s, as any student of photography, such as Calvin's dad, =3D20 well knows: =3D20 http://brake-down.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Invention-of-Co= l=3D or.jpg =20 And btw, I couldn't get those archive links to open.=A0 Are they really avail=3D able? =20 Ben =20 =20 =A0 =A0 ----- Original Message -----=A0 From: [log in to unmask] =A0 To: [log in to unmask] Sent: Sat, 08 Mar 2014 18:44:54 -0000 (UT=3D C)=A0 Subject: Re: Twain colorized photo=A0 =A0 Folks-- This photograph (and the =3D practice of colorization) has already been=3D3D=A0=A0=A0discussed on the Forum.
