I am interested the history of the economics of welfare states. I am
aware that the definition of the Economics of the welfare state is
problematic. To some economists welfare states are not economic
subjects at all. Nevertheless, economists generally assume social
protection and insurance have an impact on economic performance.
I know some work on the history of labor economics, which are of
course interesting. Does anyone know of other work done on the
evolution of welfare state analysis in economics?
Thanks in advance
